Maipu - IP Accounting

IP ACCOUNTING configuration for Maipu routers

This section is about, How to enable IP accounting in Maipu routers.  We have to configure IP accounting list command in global configuration. Then need to enable IP accounting for required interface. Then need to turn off ip route-cache and turn on ip route – cache for particular interface.

ip accounting-list 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255

### configure this command in global configuration ###

 ip address 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

 ip accounting      #### Enable ip accounting for this interface ####

ip route-cache

 (first use no IP route-cache, then use IP route-cache)

Maipu –TRACK / RTR WITH VRRP

To run VRRP in Local LAN , Last mile (Wan Link) is Fast Ethernet with Maipu routers.

Description : TRACK / RTR function is used to track remote server IP from Master router, as the link down the track function will detect the server status is unavailable, It will reduce VRRP priority by 20, In result Master will become backup. Backup will change to Master.

As the link restored, the highest priority will become master.

This solution is recommended for Wan terminated on FastEthernet, Since Fast Ethernet interface link status will is not down every time in link failure.

Maipu Password Breaking Document

For the monitor version starting from 3.24. Plz perform below steps...

Connect router by console port, Power on the Router.

Press “n” key continually till you finish full booting process .

Now You will be in user mode, then go to privilege mode -- > go to filesystem

In Filesystem mode, perform config-file startup

After this you will see old configuration loaded on router. You can do changes in Username and password as required.

SCREEN OUTPUT

MAIPU - – Backup Configuration Example for Static routing.

 MP 1800 Router – Backup configuration for Ethernet interfaces using static Routing.

MP1800 Router is connected via redundant links for High Internet Availability.  As primary link fail, Backup should work. But due to Ethernet last mile, we require to configure keepalive gateway to detect the peer availability (same subnet IP).
